You’re invited to the 29th annual World Day of Prayer!
As we unite hearts and minds with people from around the globe, together we affirm: I pray with an elevated mind and open heart. Immerse yourself in prayer, music, and contemplative experiences during this online event.

Join Us for Prayer Vigil
Please join us in celebrating the 29th annual Unity World Day of Prayer of Unity at Arlington on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022. This year’s theme is “Holding the High Watch,” and we will be holding sacred space from 12noon until 6pm in the sanctuary.
Sign up at the welcome table on Sunday, or if you are unable to sign up in person, you may email admin@unityofarlington.org with “prayer vigil sign up” in your subject line and note the time you are available to come to the sanctuary that day. You will be emailed a confirmation of your time slot.
At Unity of Arlington we will be emphasizing holding the high watch for children at home and around the world, especially those experiencing violence, war, poverty, and the many biases directed toward them globally.
There will be handouts with blessings for children among other resources from unity.org for you to use during your prayer time and to use at home to continue this sacred service.
A prayer chaplain will be seated in the foyer during your prayer time to greet you and answer questions.
You may also want to visit the many outstanding resources online at:
https://www.unity.org/article/unity-world-day-prayer-2022, where there will be many activities available to sign up for to immerse yourself in prayer, music and contemplative services on Sept. 7th and 8th.
Please contact prayer chaplains, NaOra Horton (817-791-3283),
or Theresa Riggs (605-222-8312), if you have questions.
As we unite hearts and minds with people from around the globe, together we affirm: I pray with an elevated mind and open heart.

Contemplating Healing: Right Where I Am
By Rev. Mark Fuss
|
In March of 2020 I received a diagnosis of early-stage vocal cord cancer.
Over the prior six-month period, my voice had become increasingly hoarse, until I couldn’t even make myself heard across a table in a restaurant. A trip to the doctor led to a specialist, a biopsy, the diagnosis, and a treatment plan for six weeks of focused radiation.
As much of America and indeed the world went into lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, I began my healing journey. The first few weeks were a fog of numbness and fear, an overload of medical information and doctors.
Because of the lockdown, I felt alone, confined to my home, interacting with family, work, and friends only online or by phone. My usual prayer and centering practices felt hollow and empty, and my thoughts began to spiral downward.
I was pretty hard on myself too. I am a minister in a spiritual movement with its roots in healing, yet I was feeling hopeless and afraid at times. My work involves designing, creating, and compiling inspirational content for Unity, and my well was dry, with inspiration hard to find.
One morning in April, as I was looking for material for a Unity prayer service, I came across “Your Healing Is at Hand” by Rev. Mary L. Kupferle. I read it and then read it again. It was as if she were speaking to me, her affirmative, declarative words finally piercing my fog of numbness and fear.

CDC streamlines COVID-19 guidance
to help the public better protect themselves
and understand their risk
(released August 11, 2022, 2pm CDT, cdc.gov)
Last week the CDC streamlined its COVID-19 guidance to help people better understand their risk, how to protect themselves and others, what actions to take if exposed to COVID-19, and what actions to take if they are sick or test positive for the virus.
COVID-19 continues to circulate globally, however, with so many tools available to us for reducing COVID-19 severity, there is significantly less risk of severe illness, hospitalization and death compared to earlier in the pandemic.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking a deeper under-standing of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!
Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES
Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.
Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.
Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.
Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
|
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in all we do.
Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.
Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.
Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.
Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.
Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.
Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
