“The Greatest of These..."
Rev. Rebecca Rickey
11am, Sanctuary and Livestream on Facebook
Valentine’s Day is upon us and love is in the air. It’s all hearts and flowers, and candy and greeting cards, right? It’s that day each year when we show our “special ones” how much we love them. It can also be a time fraught with unmet expectations, disappointments, and even resentment. I invite us to look beyond the chocolates and candy hearts to explore the deepest and most enduring kind of love…the love of God for us and in us. Love is not something we earn or lose; it is the very essence of who we are and the spiritual power that heals, restores, and transforms our lives. Let’s explore together the love that is constant, inclusive, unconditional, and never disappoints. Please join us.

“Making A Way Out Of No Way"
Dr. Tracy Brown
11am, Sanctuary and Livestream on Facebook
Sometimes it feels like the world we live in is more committed to pain and hatred than love and harmony. In these times of political polarity and personal challenges, what can we learn from the Black community about tenacity and resilience? Let’s close out Black History Month with Dr. Tracy and her reminder that resilience is just the outer expression of our faith and spiritual strength.

Rev. Kathy Beasley
Central Florida Center for Spiritual Living, Orlando
I believe Black History Month is a catalyst that has the power to invite the world to gain a broader, deeper, and more meaningful understanding of Black histories—then, now, and not yet.
Black History Month does this by going beyond the margins of slavery and racism and the loss of countless lives across time. It has become in me a call to lift up the power, the significance, and the value of the impact of Black people upon science, spirituality, economics, medicine, education, and the like. Black History Month reminds me of who I am and who I am created to be.
I know that there are so many challenges in our world, and to face those I have to remember my truth. I was born to overcome because my life is the answer to prayers prayed long before I came into existence. I know that my work is the key that opens doors for others like me. I know that my voice and presence are ultimate difference-makers in an unfinished world.
Black History Month is important to me because it cultivates the past. It throws light upon the present. And it points toward a real, viable future for us all.
