“The Masks We Wear”
Sunday, October 30, 2022
11am CT, Rev. Anne Tabor
Hybrid Service (online and in-person)
Think about it... there are physical masks, like the ones we’ve worn during the pandemic or the ones we wear as part of a Halloween costume like Catwoman or Spider-Man. And there are also emotional masks we sometimes try to hide behind to camouflage who we really are. But we weren’t born with masks! We can choose to wear them—or not. Join Rev. Anne for an inspiring message about the masks we wear.

But this doesn’t mean you don’t have your own spiritual work to do! Join Rev. Anne to learn more about why the song says, “It may sound strange, but the world won’t change, ‘til you rearrange your mind.”

It’s Unity of Arlington's 48th Anniversary!
Join us for a potluck celebration at our Garden Lane Center following the Sunday Service on November 13, 2022.
Our Unity of Arlington SpiritGroups have graciously volunteered to do the setup and organize the food and drinks. Our Board of Trustees will help out and act as hostesses. Theresa Riggs, our Volunteer Coordinator, will be available with information about our various ministries.
When you arrive at the campus prior to the service, you will see signs directing you to Garden Lane to drop off your “potluck dish.”
In order to assure a good variety, we're asking everyone to bring a dish based on the first letter of your last name as follows:
- Appetizers = A thru D
- Salads = E thru I
- Breads = J thru L
- Meats/casseroles = M thru R
- Desserts = S thru Z
We look forward to seeing you and being with you! ❤️ If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Riggs: theresamariewolf@yahoo.com

The Metaphysics of Halloween
By Rev. Sandra Campbell
The first time we celebrated Halloween at my Unity church, it was met with strong disapproval. Some members of the congregation expressed the belief that Halloween stood for dual powers—good and evil—and did not fit into Unity teachings of oneness. Yet despite the dark history of Halloween, there is a spiritual perspective.

More Americans are Getting Their Booster Shots
(updated October 20, 2022, cnn.com)
With Halloween approaching, we are reminded that colder weather is coming. Officials have been pleased with the increase in the number of Covid booster shots administered over the last few weeks, but caution we can do more.
Data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (cdc.gov) show that 4.5 million Americans received the bivalent booster, which targets both the original strain of the coronavirus as well as the Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5, over the past week. But there is still much more work to do.
For the complete statistics and information, follow the link below.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking a deeper under-standing of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!
Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES
Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.
Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.
Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.
Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
|
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in all we do.
Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.
Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.
Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.
Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.
Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.
Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
