Join us for the first Sunday of Advent as we focus on the theme of Hope.
Hope represents a time when Jewish people looked forward to the coming of the Messiah. It also represents Christians and their hope for the second coming of Christ. How does hope show up in our lives today? How can we use the Jewish/Christian example of hope in our daily lives? Michael Brundy will share stories and examples of how hope has made a difference in his life and the life of others—and—how we hope all people will awaken to their divine spiritual nature.

About Michael:
Michael is a 50 year member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He is a marathoner and the author of four books, the latest titled, Make a Point Tell a Story. He is in the Toastmaster International Hall of Fame and is the current president of the Dallas Storytelling Guild. Michael is also a member of the North 40 Storytelling Guild and on the board of directors of the Tejas Storytelling Association.
Michael is a long time member of Centers for Spiritual Living Dallas where he served on the Core Council and as a Platform Assistant. He has also co-chaired their annual fundraiser, “Adventures In Spirit” and served as project manager for their building renovation.
Michael loves to speak and tell stories. His goal is to inform, inspire and entertain his audiences.

Youth and Family Ministry Director
Unity of Arlington has a part time position open for our next Youth and Family Ministry Director.
The YFM Director makes way for the spiritual education and empowerment of babies, children, and teenagers in our church community. In keeping with Unity principles, the director oversees the development of a spectacular, inspiring youth program including relevant curriculum, age-appropriate classroom environment, community-building activities, and a team of well-trained adult volunteers and teachers who are themselves Unity students. The YFM Director supports families by initiating programs relevant to the spiritual life of families.

Rev. Charline Manuel, a Unity minister for nearly 30 years, has been elevated to chair of the Unity World Headquarters (UWH) Board of Directors. She is the first African American to lead the board
Charline has been the single most influential catalyst for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives implemented at Unity headquarters since 2017. She led several strategic committees during her seven years of board service prior to this appointment.
“It is my honor to serve on the UWH Board of Directors,” Charline said. “Having a seat at the table, a voice in discussions, and a vote on decisions has demonstrated the importance of the diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative that has caused a shift in consciousness at Unity. The changes can be seen in the publications, the kinds of events and retreats taking place at Unity, the hiring practices, and the growing number of faces that were long too absent. When I walk the campus at Unity Village, I am proud of who we are and proud to say I belong.”

A Course in Miracles Study Group
Fridays, 10am - 12noon in GLC
Every Friday a group of people get together in the Garden Lane Center to study A Course in Miracles (ACIM). Led by June Alexander, the group begins each session with a daily devotional, studies from the text, and then uses the workbook to learn how to put what they have studied into practice.

Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES
Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.
Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.
Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.
Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
