Greeters Needed!
Remember how it felt the first time you walked through the doors of Unity of Arlington? How nice it was to have someone smile, say hi, and welcome you into the sanctuary? It’s time to give some of that warm feeling back by volunteering to be a greeter and help make everyone who comes through our doors feel loved and welcome. Talk to Marion Tudor at church, call her at 817-929-3724, or email her at granny0497@gmail.com to sign up.

Are You a United States Service Veteran?
Our neighborhood school, Key Elementary, is planning an event to celebrate our veterans. If you would like to be included, please call the school at 682.867.5500 and ask for Laverne Grant, the Family Engagement Liaison.
It would be so nice to have our Unity of Arlington veterans be included in the honors.

Lessons From A Rabbit
by Rev. Teresa Burton
One hot afternoon, I walked to my car to run some errands. I looked around to the shady spots where I had seen the rabbit at various points over the summer. It was not there. Then I had the idea to look under my car. Sure enough, I found it reclining on the gravel in the shade of my car. In that moment, I had a choice. I could make a loud noise to scare it off or I could start my car and assume it would scurry away.

Companion Pet Meals from Meals on Wheels
Years ago, we learned that an alarming number of our elderly and disabled clients were not eating all of their nutritious meal, but actually sharing it with their pets! This is a real problem for clients who live on a minimal income and desperately need the full nutritional benefits of our meals, not to mention the fact that our meals are not always healthy for the pets. Clients who have difficulty adequately feeding their cat or dog may receive supplemental pet food for up to two pets at no charge.
