"New Thought Meat and Potatoes"

Rev. Lari Goold, Guest Speaker

11am, Sanctuary and Livestream on Facebook

Traditionally Unity and Science of Mind review the basic principles of New Thought in January. It’s time to review what we teach and how to use it. “Change your thinking, change your life” was the motto on the Science of Mind magazine for many years. Taking responsibility for your experiences is a life assignment! Let’s get back to basics.

About Rev. Lari:

BIO Rev. Lari Goold has a passion for spiritual evolution studying, teaching and preaching new thought principles. She is a familiar face here at Unity of Arlington, and she loves to spend time in this community. She feels her work with Youth of Religious Science for many years and her connection to young people when teaching piano lessons contributed a great deal to her spiritual growth. She has been studying and practicing metaphysics for over 50 years, and as a licensed Prayer Practitioner, places high value on the power of affirmative prayer.

"The Hidden Truth About Faith"

Dr. Tracy Brown, RScP, Guest Speaker

11am, Sanctuary and Livestream on Facebook

Faith: you either have it or you don’t. Faith: we use spiritual practice to grow, or deepen, our faith. Faith: it is invisible and hard to explain. We know a lot about faith. But there is one Truth about faith that most people either don’t know or often forget! Tracy is going to remind us of an important fact we must incorporate into our lives if we want faith to help us navigate to our Highest Good.

New Tuesday Book Study

Tuesdays, 1:30pm - 3pm, Zoom

Join Rev. Gloria Cox's book-study group

to read and discuss The Magic of the Word, by May Rowland.

We will discuss many topics in the book including Spiritual Healing, Peace in our world, Life is consciousness, Love and forgiveness, Prayer and Meditation, the working power of the Holy Spirit, Joy and gratitude,

May Rowland was director of Unity's prayer ministry "Silent Unity" for many years. She said: "Remember, the power of the word is yours. Through your word you change the circumstances of your life. The word of God is quick and powerful.... Through Christ in you, you can live life triumphantly and victoriously." Myrtle Fillmore told her, "You are a peacemaker." Charles Fillmore stated: "Jesus Christ men (and everyone) are to be lights that glow with a perpetual current from the omnipresent energy." Join in as we "Let our Lights Shine" for the Highest Good for all!

Please contact Rev. Gloria with any questions. Reserve your place in the class and get the Zoom link by calling her at: 817-472-5655

Little Free Library

Please support our connection with our community through our Little Free Library by bringing book donations (teen, fiction, non-fiction, spiritual, self help). Children's books are especially needed. Donation area available Sundays.

The Board of Trustees has made the decision to temporarily pause our Youth and Family Ministries Program.

We ask for everyone’s support while we make space for a robust program with a focus on Unity curriculum development and family engagement. In the interim, we welcome and encourage the children to attend church with their families. We are providing art tablets, books, crayons and markers in the sanctuary.

FOR THE COMMON GOOD

"I wish I could help..."

When we see disasters like the fires in southern California or the hurricanes that decimated parts of western North Carolina a few months ago, we sometimes despair because we feel, as individuals, powerless. However, for some time now, Unity of Arlington has included donations to World Central Kitchen as part of our monthly tithing. In case you wanted to know more about this organization, we share the following information:

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises while working to build resilient food systems with locally led solutions. WCK has served more than 200 million fresh meals to people impacted by natural disasters and other crises around the world. WCK's Resilience Programs strengthen food and nutrition security by training chefs and school cooks; advancing clean cooking practices; and awarding grants to farms, fisheries, and small food businesses while also providing educational and networking opportunities. (source wck.org/story)

Through individual tithes to support Unity of Arlington, we are then able to send tithe funds to organizations like World Central Kitchen. In 2024, WCK provided over 109 million meals to families affected by conflict, natural disasters, and the climate crisis in 20 countries. The Unity of Arlington community helped that effort.
