Everyday Thanksliving, Part 2
“Dear Lord, I'm Stuffed!”
Sunday, November 21, 2021
11am CT, Rev. Anne Tabor
*Facebook Live and YouTube
Depending on where you grew up, you may refer to a certain classic Thanksgiving side dish as “stuffing” or “dressing.” No matter how you say it… you’ll probably call it “yummy” and scoop up some seconds, or thirds! But before you overindulge, join Rev. Anne to learn more about why your gratitude isn’t just an attitude—it’s actually something that needs to be expressed and practiced.

Advent Week 1: HOPE
“A Ray of Hope”
Sunday, November 28, 2021
11am CT, Rev. Anne Tabor
*Facebook Live and YouTube
In her newest publication, The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times, Jane Goodall writes, “Hope is often misunderstood. People tend to think that it is simply passive wishful thinking: ‘I hope something will happen but I’m not going to do anything about it.’ This is indeed the opposite of real hope, which requires engagement.” Join Rev. Anne for the first Sunday of Advent as we explore how our actions drive our expectations for experiencing our good now and in the future. THIS is what helps prepare us for the birth of the Christ within us all!

December is often a busy time for families. It is filled with activities, shopping, and preparation. It is easy to lose sight of and take time for the true meaning of the season. We are inviting our families to weekly take a moment by lighting a candle together on an Advent wreath.
To assist with this, we will be providing gift bags with the supplies needed for the children to make a family Advent wreath. We want to encourage families to take time each week to share in the lighting of a flameless candle together, as a family. The bags will have a guide to use when lighting the candles during your family time each week.
Pick up time for gift bags will be 2:30pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, November 20th, at Unity of Arlington.
We are having Sunday School on Zoom November 21st, so our children can have an introduction to Advent, and make the family Advent wreath.
Contact Janette Jordan, for more information:

As a part of the plans for re-opening the sanctuary and continuing our live stream broadcasts, Unity of Arlington is looking to expand its audio and video Tech Team to create our hybrid services. Ideally, candidates will have experience in mixing live sound on a digital board, streaming Facebook Live and YouTube, and running video and lights. We are, however, willing to train someone with any level of experience in one of the areas listed.
Additional skills include the ability to communicate clearly and work well with others. Also, personal qualities of integrity and a commitment to the core values of UofA.

Safer Ways to Celebrate Holidays
|
|
|
Holiday traditions are important for families and children. There are several ways to enjoy holiday traditions and protect your health. Because many generations tend to gather to celebrate holidays, the best way to minimize COVID-19 risk and keep your family and friends safer is to get vaccinated if you’re eligible.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking a deeper under-standing of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!
Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES
Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.
Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.
Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.
Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
|
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in all we do.
Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.
Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.
Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.
Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.
Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.
Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
